Interesting:

I would prefer there be some form of incentive to producing/using them vs them being outlawed.

Couple things:
Since these all come from China does the energy savings of the light bulb negate the amount of energy used to get them over here?

Its my understanding that there are light bulb manufacturing companies that are working to improve the efficiency of the incandescent bulb.

At least we know the CFL can be recycled - not sure we can say the same about incandescents.

I have a hard time thinking many people will recycle the CFL's. I can imagine many will just chuck them in the trash. Also, with the protocol for a broken CFL involving opening windows and leaving the room. I hadn't considered what they should do in a highrise without windows, like mentioned earlier. I also had no idea that they were ALL manufactured in China. Christy

CFLs are a stepping stone to LED lights.

And Ted Poe likes his publicity. Even by Texas standards, he's a character.
