 o
Monsanto to Abolish Home Gardens?

Posted by treehuggerista 77005 TX (My Page) on

Has anybody seen this? I just saw this on a Facebook page and wonder if it really could happen. Now, wait a minute, this is truly alarming if they're going to control gardeners everywhere! Can't be done but they shouldn't be doing this at all. I'm all for Victory Gardens, greenhouses, rain barrels, not corporations dictating homegrown gardens.

Please re-post, share and talk about this.

This has already been discussed. This bill is for control over food processing facilities NOT home gardens or farms. The link you gave states Hogwash. Read the bill.

I don't think any business or corporation should have lawmaking/judicial capabilities, but with Monsanto's CEO married to a US senator or congresswoman (I'm not not sure which 1), the clear conflict of interest, basically gives Monsanto the power (not the "right") to pass laws that take away our most basic human rights. ANY such laws should be disobeyed & vigorously opposed.

Someone may have understood proposed legislation and this discussion ensued. BUT Monsanto, and other companies that produce seeds and chemicals, definitely have some ideas that people should know about. In 1994 they managed to get permission to put GMO products in foods (raw and packaged) without any info about it on the label. Have you seen the documentary, The Future of Food? There is a discussion about GMO's here on the seed saving forum.
