Repurposing copper roof

As part of a remodel we will be removing an exterior decorative copper roof and we are hoping to repurpose it as a range hood. Does anyone have experience with a project like this? We are unsure where to start. We live in the Chicago 'burbs, so any local resources would be appreciated. Thanks!
