cloth 'wrapping paper' update

For Christmas this year I wrapped most of the presents in cloth from cut up shirts taken out of my husband's closet (he purged his closet of clothes 20+ years old!). I have to say that the cloth wrapping worked very well. Our boys said that it was harder to unwrap because you have to unwrap and not just tear apart. A few big items I used paper because the cloth wasn't big enough (and no time/inclination to sew). This year we also had Christmas at my house so my neice/nephew and my sister experienced my cloth wrapping. I bought my neice a new music stand. I draped a large green table cloth and tied a pretty red bow over top. It was all very pretty. Now to organize the wrapping cloths in an easy to find and labled bin....

Happy new year!

RE: cloth 'wrapping paper' update

Sounds great! I may try that next year. This year I just about finished up my stash of old wrapping paper. And I do mean old. After all, Santa can't use the same wrapping paper every year, lol. Now that the kids are older, I've been using up the old stuff - haven't bought wrapping paper in three or four years and I'm pretty much out.

When I do my planned closet cleaning this month, I'll have to keep an eye out for good "wrapping"!

:)
