Pumpkins, Squash & Gourds

need help with gourd idea/recommendation

i just had this crazy idea of perhaps growing a gourd (L. siceraria) over a metal gazebo this year. This is not a big structure, so i'm wondering if the vines will be too heavy. Are the vines for the smaller gourds the same size as the larger gourds? Thanks.

The only problem I can see is that the metal might get too hot if it is painted a dark color. How big is the structure? Most gourd vines are pretty large, but they will not get as big in poor soil as in good soil. If it's a gazebo, I assume it's at lest big enough for a person to get inside? That should be big enough.
