In the early 30's my grandmother used to carry a gourd in her purse, she called it a pocketbook, that really perfumed everything. She called it a pocketbook melon but I'm sure it was a gourd. Does anyone have a name for this? A source for seeds?

Could it be a small bottle gourd or jewelry gourd that may have been filled with a fragrant oil? I have seen these made into necklaces...............Lillie

I got an e-mail from someone saying that it was probably "Queen Anne's Pocket Melon. I'm sure that was the one. They do smell so good.
