Grand Gourd Experiment

I am going to INTENTIONALLY cross pollinate 6 types of hardshell gourds so that my coming generations will be a fun freakish mix of shapes and sizes. I'd love to hear thoughts on the matter.

Birdhouse

Bushel

Snake

Tobacco Box

Long Handle Dipper

Hercules Club Gourd

Goferit! You might have to work on it a few years to get a stable cross, but it's worth doing.

Yeah I figure it'll be MANY seasons before a stable cross comes about, however We're (wife and I) are just looking for the "mystery" of it all.. I do know that the male influences shape and the mother carries the size aspect. Learned that from the local county extension agent. However if I ever do get a stable strain out of them. I might just call it the "Oddball Gourd"
