Indiana Gourd Show

Hi,I would love to invite everyone that can make it to attend our annual gourd show in kokomo this year the dates are March 30, 31, and April 1st. we offer everything from classes to competition to every type of gourd vendors. classes are for everyone from beginners to advanced so there is something for everyone. We're coming to the show on the 31st. We can't wait to see what's new this year.

Happy to say I will be there - taking two classes - still cogitating about entering in competitions tho ... I think I am too new at this!

Bringing along at least one friend who is a gourder - possibly two if the 2nd can get off work!

Will be there Fri - Sunday and really looking forward to meeting everyone - old friends and new!

WOW! What a wonderful show!

I went along and took my two workshops - chip carving for beginners with Lyn Rhems and Jeweled Grape Vine gourd with Karen Hundt-Brown. I had a ball and loved every minute.

The third and fourth people I met when arriving were Rich and Brenda - he started this thread! Thank goodness Jan persisted and finally found me in a class and we had a good half hour visit. I kept looking around for a name tag that said Hen Gal - but never found one and that was a disappointment! Maybe next year!!! It was wonderful to meet Jan, Rich and Brenda and many others whose names I have only heard in here and on other gourd sites. The show was magnificent and I am sure that those who put it on are still sound asleep - or should be - as it had to be exhausting for everyone. It was an amazing show and I truly appreciate all their hard work.

Just wanted to chime in to say that this year's show was FANTASTIC! It was great meeting Rita and Rich at the show.
This year's entries were beautiful. Congrats to all the winners, and ALL were winners!

Rita, did you finish your beaded gourd?

Hengal, have you tried any RIT dyeing yet? I intend to do more, now that I know the correct way to do it.

I am more inspired than ever to stay busy with my gourds.

Where is Kokomo, IN? I am near Evansville, IN so this is something I might want to attend next year. This is my 1st year growing gourds (reg and swan). Thanks.

Hi Nancy,
Kokomo is about 35 miles, more or less, north of Indianapolis. The show will probably be at a different location next year, and will be announced in a few months.
You might want to look up the Indiana Gourd Society, for more information.
