Do Birdhouse Gourds get Vine Borers?

Hey, I have tried growing pumpkins in the past, but have alwys lost my crop to vine borers. NASTY THINGS!!! So this year I thought I'd try birdhouse gourds : ) (Lagenaria siceraria.) Does anyone know if they are succeptible to squash vine borers, too?
