Could I grow two pumpkins in one pot?

I have around 12 pumpkin seeds that I am germinating here in San Antonio, TX. I have eight in a jiffy dome sprouting tray, two in a jar of water with paper towels and two in a pot I placed outside with potting soil. They are one giant pumpkin, five from a large pumpkin bought at a Church sale and three small sugar and three Jarrahdale. I was wondering if I could grow two of each in a large pot that is 16 by 14 with 12 inches of red lava sand soil mix I put together and put an inch of red mulch on top. Or should I put the in a mound of soil similar to a large ant hill because I saw a video on youtube of a kid growing them that way.
