I live in TX also,about 5 hours West of Dallas,and have been looking for a TX source for gourds for 2 years now.So far haven't found anything.There are a couple that I will post the links to their websites.One is in OK and one in AZ.At least the S&H would be somewhat cheaper than ordering from some of the Northern states or CA.When I first started working with gourds I got them from E-Bay,but S&H is getting outrageous from most of the sellers there unless you get a real good price on the gourds.As an example I just won 3 auctions,6 large gourds for $3.75 for each auction.With S&H it was a total of $28.78.That was a really good price on the gourds,otherwise I wouldn't have bid on them.Normally the gourds would have gone for more than $10.each so I feel fortunate to have gotten them that cheap.
Have you thought of growing them yourself? I have never grown them before but plan to try my hand at them this summer.A man down the road from me had birdhouse gourds growing on his fence and he gave me a dozen last fall.He said I could have more but I haven't gone to get them yet.I guess I need to do that.I hung the green ones from my deck suspended in old pantyhose legs and they dried beautifully.Sorry,got off the question.if you ever find a supplier in TX let me know........Lillie
