is there a difference between...

Is there a difference between chinese loofahs and loofahs? I received both through trades and couldn't find anything on any differences between the plants when I googled them, but the seeds look different.

Can anyone tell me what the differences are, if any? Thanks!

There are 44 cultivars of sponge gourd in two species that I know about. Most often the ridge gourd (Luffa acutangular) is called Chinese okra, while the smooth gourd (Luffa cylindrica) is called vining okra,altho both are sometimes called Chinese okra.
