i have never grown them , however theres a plant native to our area, so mo no ar that makes a small , like softball sized type loofah plant , goodl uck , ive collected soem of the wild ones and made neat soaps with them , so should work for you too...

Hi bethlaf, thanks for the information. How do you harvest them? Sounds like a neat plant. Are they like the long loffahs you see in the stores?

We saw the round loofahs in several booths at the Indiana Gourd Society show this weekend. First time I had noticed them. Most of them were smaller than a baseball, and all seemed to be like a regular loofah sponge.

Yes, some were selling seeds....but I didn't get any addresses. You might find some on the Indiana Gourd Society's website.
