Ehh I have seen gourd seeds be stubborn and hold out for a month but that's rare given the temp is up to speed.

If it were me, I'd open up one planting site and rummage around for seeds.. If they are there but not sprouted then soften up the plant site, soak the seeds for a few hrs of room temp water and replant and keep moist. If you've got the seeds might want to add a new one or two for good measure. (always nip the extras before they get too big, rather than having none at all) If the seeds are swollen or sprouted then you've only uprooted one planting site.

Heck I've gotten impatient and replanted gourd seeds just to have ALL of them come up at the same time.. Nothing like having 5-6 plants sprouting outta a mound made for 2 or 3. (and if you can feed them well enough they can make pretty decent gourds even that heavily planted) We've got 6 types of gourds growing this year.. (hoping for some funky hybrids)

I am just wondering if they are bad seed to begin with.
I had three packages.
Two were from the Weeks company and the apple gourds were from Ferry Morse.

I have dealt with both Weeks & Ferry Morse. Ferry Morse tend to be better seeds but, (yes there is a but) they have been know to mis-label things. (Birdhouse gourds sprouting from a Dipper gourd packet. that sort of thing)

I've also used Weeks and though they have sprouted for me and I must admit some of my bushel gourds came from their seeds. They seem to have a rather low germination rate and the seeds are often broken,immature,or rather sickly looking. Yet the gourds (if they sprout) do tend to make pretty plants and gourds. After this season mine are all going to be hybridized so no telling what mine will be like next season.. (Long Dipper,Bushel,Birdhouse,Caveman Club,Snake and Canteen)
