Gourds and cold frame question

I'm growing birdhouse gourds and mini bottle gourds for the first time this year. I started them inside several weeks ago and they are growing much faster than I had anticipated and I am running out of space for them in the house. I have a cold frame and was wondering if I could put them in that to continue growing until I can plant them in late May. My fear is, the cold frame still gets down to the upper 30s at night. What is the coldest temperature that the gourds can handle? Or should I just keep pinching them back inside until they can be planted outside?

RE: Gourds and cold frame question

I think they would be ok in your cold frame as long as they don't freeze. Upper 30's should be ok. They will probably slow down in growing. I think that would be a better option to pinching them back. I put mine out in a cold frame but I use an old electric blanket under the trays of plants. I have it on a timer to go on in the evening and off in the morning. I would get yours outside before they get too lanky and *housebroken* :-) Good luck.
