| I am asian and love gourds they are great in taste and also healthy. I have a problem with the names what we call them there and what it is over here. I bought a birdhouse gourd thinking one of our gourd which is looks like it but does not have that round bottom, its just like longer and bigger cucumbers. Is it edible? |

| Yes, just keep in mind that those cultivars bred for crafts may not be as tasty as those bred for eating. Most vendors of Asian seeds like Evergreen Seeds will offer a good selection of this type of gourd developed specifically for eating. |
