| For the first time this year I will be growing (have the seedlings all started) gourds, butternut squash, cucumbers, mini-melons in my garden. I have instructions to build a nice trellis for them, but find I have limited space. What I do have in full sun is a wood pile. Would that serve as a good trellis for these climbers? I figure they could just grow all over the logs and maybe cover them, they are a bit unsightly in the summer. What do you think of this idea?

| How will you harvest from the top of the woodpile? |

| I can easily reach the top of the woodpile now. It is about 10 feet wide and at its highest about 4 feet high. I have grown Yvonne's salvia in front of it before, so I do have a narrow bed already there. |

| Hello Posyplanter: Thanks for your vote of confidence. I was beginning to think I was really crazy to come up with this idea (being a newbie at veggies). My seedlings are all ready and I will be planting out this weekend. I always take lots of pics. and will be sure to share the outcome. Hope you have a successful gardening season. Northerner. |
