Rotating pumpkins

I have this one pumpkin that is growing really nicely and I read online that I should rotate the pumpkin so that it sits on its bottom (where the leaf has dried up and fallen off). I tried to do it but I felt there was too much stress on the vine so I left it alone. Any suggestions on how I can go about positioning it on its bottom since it's sort of growing sideways?

that looks like a baby giant pumpkin. on a couple feet in each direction of the pumpkin there is tenacles (i forgot the name) secondary root on the vine. you can cut them to give you some more slack. and then start rotaring the pumpkin alittle at a time. should take a few days. be carefull. you could put a pile of sand under the pumpkin to keep it in the position.
