So how many can I expect?

Hello,

This is my second year of growing gourds and I'm so excited. I had just 5 plants last year, basic gourds, seeds I picked up from the hardware store and had about 40 gourds. This year I went nuts...........I have tennesse spinning gourds, sennari, mexican water bottle, G04 dipper, Nigerian drum, African drum, mini nigerian, nest egg,large african bottle,African Kettle, bule,corsican flat...and probably some I can't think of right now. How many can I expect from each? I've never seen a nigerian drum or an african drum......I'm hoping they are huge!I'd love to hear your havest stories. Also I read the nest egg have yellow flowers, is that right? Any others with yellow?

Yes nest egg gourds have yellow flowers.
They are in with the ornamental gourds although they do dry out and look pretty good.
The hardshelled gourds bloom white and mostly blom in evening or at night time.
I planted about 30 or so plants a few years ago and got a few hundred gourds.
This year I like you went nuts and have hundreds of gourd plants out there it should be a gourd jungle. hehehehe I am hopeing anyway.
Put up the fence for them last night and then i have the
ground if they do go crazy.

Thank you for the info. I just returned from a 10 day vacation and the gourds are growing like crazy!Can't wait!
