Hi Bruvyman, I too have male and female flowers showing on my pumpkin plants already, and I don't really want to snip the flowers (feels so counterintuitive!!) but I know that people who are trying to grow very large pumpkins will pull the female flowers until the vine is very sturdy and established.
Please post whether you remove flowers or not and how it turns out!

Thanks Stephanie - I did get rid of the male and female flowers. I've now had three females already. The plant is much bigger now. Here is a pic i took the day I made that post on June 7.

The plant is now about 4 feet across and growing rapidly. I think I will continue to snip flowers until they appear maybe 7-10 feet from the plant centre.

I just thought it so strange to have female flowers that early.

That's great! Are you aiming for a really big pumpkin? This is my first year growing pumpkins, very excited and so are the kids! Unfortunately I had to resow and start from scratch because vine-borers annihilated my first set of plants :/ On the upside, they freed me from worries about whether or not to pinch off those first few flowers ;) I noticed a few other posts on here about early flowers. It seems you are doing the right thing. Best of luck!! Be sure to post a pic if you get a whopper
