Pumpkin is dying! HELP!!

Posted by Slowbro none (My Page) on

I have been growing pumpkins in pots for the first time and have 5 plants that are a couple of months old. In the last couple of weeks I have noticed that the bottom leaves of 4 of them have been drying out and dying back. What is happening and should I be worried for the rest of the plant? What should I do?

Can you post some pics? Maybe too little or too much water?

I think a trick with planting in pots is that the plants may be either too wet or too dry. Especially when the plants get big, they take up a lot of water and can dry out the pot really quickly. Have you been fertilizing? Maybe its fertilizer burn?

Applied a liquid feed a couple of weeks ago.

Are those plants going in the ground soon? I am more concerned that the leaves of your plants appear to be bigger than the pots. I also think it is a result of salt accumulation in the leaves. The problems will only worsen if you leave the plants in those tiny containers.
