oh, i found the eggs on pumpkin leaves and sprayed those. Also had cucumbers in the area and sprayed those some. Also sprayed some on squash and zukes. All have some leaves with this brown, dying damage.

Yes, too much soapy water, too strong a soap solution, or spraying at the wrong time of day can cause leaf damage.

should i just not do anything now (other than being more careful)? or shoujld i cut off the damaged/dead leaves?

I'd try to wash everything if I were you by just flushing the area with water. Lesson learned. Also what did you use as your 'soap'? Soaps won't harm plants unless the concentration is too high or the 'soap' you used isn't a soap at all and instead is a detergent.

I would just leave the leaves on the plant and let them die back on their own. Since you know the cause of damage (that it is not some disease) it is unlikely that the dead leaves would be bad for the plant. I think it could actually be worse to cut off the leaves because then you could possibly be leaving them open to disease.

The leaves will kind of curl and go completely brown as they die and then the stem connecting them to the vine will yellow and kind of collapse, just don't worry about it.

As another note, you can sunburn squashes by just watering at the wrong time of the day and getting the leaves wet. Even plain water sitting on the leaves and evaporating can burn them (although usually not bad enough that the whole leave dies back).
