What stopped growing? The plants or the fruit? If it was the fruit it is because they didn't get pollinated. You should pick them and eat them now, they won't be growing anymore. If a summer squash gets pollinated it will grow noticeably every day. Also a growing squash is a lot shinier than one that isn't growing (from lack of pollination).

pollinating by hand will eliminate the problem. I think there's a thread on here discussing it, but - if you still need help, please ask - and i'll be happy to assist you.

let me re- phrase that. If you need more help, one of us on here will be glad to assist you with your problem, but Trev is much more qualified than I. There...that sounded better.

chele, many of the steps in the thread you looked at aren't necessary if you just want to pollinate your squash. And that makes it so much easier. Let me know if you want more info. It's really easy and fun. Maureen

I pollinated my summer squash last year using my son's artists paint brush. Easy peasy, and it worked!
