What kind of gourds are you growing? It is common advice to clip the vine at 8-10 feet though it is often to increase the number of females not males.

I almost never fertilize container grown gourds (thought I probably should) you can just follow the manufactures fertilization guidelines, just be sure the directions are specifically for potted plants.

What size pots are you using? If your temps are that high and you can't water multiple times a day when the plants are mature you might come home to some very sad plants. It wouldn't be a horrible idea to shade on those 110+ days, though it isn't necessary. Just be sure the plants get enough water and don't dry out.
