growing large Pumpkins

huggins

I bought some seeds for large competition Pumpkins this year (supposed to grow Pumpkins to 200#) (I have never had any luck with growing pumpkins in the past..but thought I would give it a try) I planted the seeds in pots because there was no room anywhere else. I have 2 plants that are doing good so far and the 1 vine is about 12 ft long and the other is about 8 ft long. They are getting blossoms now and I was wondering if there is anything I should do to be sure I get some pumpkins. I did cut the end of vine today on the longer one..Hope I didn't goof up..I would rather have a few BIG pumpkins than a lot of small ones--Anyone that can give advice..Please do so...Thanks NH
