I don't think so. Voles eat insects. I saw a bunch this morning in my tiny garden. I'm glad to have them there actually, so long as they leave the worms and focus on the slugs and other pests!

Our voles are plant eaters. They love root crops. have not had them bother the squash plants much tho. Moles are the carnivores, Wild forager. I think you confused them.

Yes, they will damage squash. We are seeing this issue right now. Part of the problem is that with digging and burrowing they uproot plants and allow air into the rooted zones for the squash. Voles go after just about any root vegetables and gnaw them to nubbins.
