I watered my plants, this morning I did,

but when checking my zuke plant, I found some frass hid.

I looked down in horror thought how could this be,

I thought I was careful, this can't happen to me!

but sure enough there were 2 holes I found,

and some orangey frass at the base by the ground.

There was still a young zuke with a flower on end,

so I planned emergency surgery to the plant I must mend.

I only read about this before on GW,

so I hope you'll hear my tale it won't trouble you,

I changed the blade on my trusty razor,

and cut into the base, I hope it won't faze her.

but I didn't find him and didn't want to cut deeper,

I don't know what I'm doing, but I'll still try to keep her.

I took out a skewer and jabbed it inside,

hoping the stuff that came out was his hide,

So let my heartbreak be a warning to you,

or your plant could face the same fate as mine too.

Check for that vine borer and check it 3 times,

or it could mean the end of your lovely squash vines.
