Successfully hand polinated my first pumpkin...i think

So i was out early a few days ago and saw a beautiful female flower open and looking lonely. I took a male flower, removed the petals and brushed it all over the female. To be sure I did it again with another male. Then i used a little twine and gently tied the female flower closed.

i think it worked becasue the little pumpkin has gotten bigger every day. I hope it worked!

On the same vine I found another small female this morning. I will be away for a few days so I hope nature will take it's course.

So here is a question. After a 2nd fruit is pollinated, should I cut off the growing tip? Will that give me a bigger pumpkin in the end? or just let it go go go?

thanks

steve
