If your seeds are still brown, and not a whitish color, they should still be fine.
As you collect them from the gourds you are working on, put them in a container to keep them dry,(some people freeze them with no ill-effects) and label them for next growing season.

You won't know if you don't try!!

I have saved gourd seeds with mixed results some seeds you get the same plant and other seeds grow something different.

Unless you have areas to isolate your gourds each year, you will get a variety of results.
To grow your gourd for seed, you need to keep each type a distance of three to five miles apart to prevent crossing.

If you have the space and consider it a practical venture, start with pure seed from a reputable source, and you should get the results you want, both from the purchased seed and the seed you save.

We love the mixed varieties for the unusual shapes and sizes..........no isolated growing for us!
