| I have never grown pumpkins before and decided to try to grow one out front. I could not find any other type of pumpkin seeds except big max so that is what i got. Any suggestions on how to get a big pumpkin? I know that I would have more success by only letting one pumpkin off the plant to grow, is this right?

| Justin, that is correct. Apart from that, all I can tell you is that it would help to prepare about a "wheel barrow sized bed" in which to plant it, digging in plenty of well rotted compost. Another factor in producing a really big pumpkin would be to maintain constant moisture. Just be careful not to over water. Perhaps someone from this forum, who has made more of a study on this matter, will chime in. George |
