I'm growing new england pie pumpkins. In my inexperienced opinion, things are going great. I have leaves bigger than my head, 15 feet of vines, and a few developing pumpkins.

I have 2 questions.

1) The growing pumpkins are resting on a crushed stone driveway. Do I need to cushion them or anything?

2) The vines are getting out of hand. I can hardly walk around my garden they are so wild adn sprawling. Should I prune the vines in any way?
