storing pumpkins

Been a good year for pumpkins, actually I'm having them mature earilier than normal and have already picked a number of them.

Normally I cook them and then freeze them in pie size portions to use through out the winter. But this year was also a bumper crop of zucchini and I have a freezer full of shredded zucchini to use for zucchini bread (believe me, I have cooked young zucchini in every way imaginable, including a zucchini pie of all things, gave away zons and still have a freezer full, everyone is getting zucchini bread for Christmas, lol). Plus I need to leave room in the freezer for all the tomatoe sauce I'll have to make in a couple weeks.

Anyhow, I thought that this year I would like to store the pumpkins in the old fashion way, whole, I just need to know how to go about doing it. I know I'm suppose to cure them, I just don't know how to do it.

Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
