Flower end on pumpkin

So once you have your pumpkin established, is it best to leave the dead flower and let it fall off on its own or pull it off after a certain time. Or does it even matter? I have a pumpkin that is about a 7-10 days since it was pollinated with the dead flower still attached and not sure if I should leave it alone or not. Thanks in advance!

It serves no purpose, It is just some dead stuff. With some light touch of finger, it should come off. I think that it might even start a rot by getting wet on and off. JMO

Thank you! I was concerned about rotting. I am going to remove mine when I am up there next.
