Same thing happen to my bird house and dipper gourds did the same thing. I was only able to harvest one gourd of each plant. Maybe this is not a good season for them or my seeds were probably too old.

I am having the same problem. I bought both packages from two different local market.s I came on thwe board to see if I can find a thread for some sorta natural fertilizer to revive them. Are yours dying from the root up?

Yes, I guess the vine starts to die at the base (or root) and works its way to the end of the vine. These are grown in pots and a trellis. A couple of things come to mind:

Too many plants in one pot (about 4)
Vine does not like to grow sideways (on the trellis)

I really think if these were in the ground, they would be thriving (hopefully).

Leaves don't last forever, older ones (toward the base of the vine) die first, this is not a problem. If the entire vine is wilting and dying even though the plant is thoroughly watered then the problem is likely a squash vine borer (SVB). Pumpkins and gourds send down secondary roots at the base of each leaf node that help support the plant. Trellised plants can't send down secondary roots, are more susceptible to SVB and aren't as vigorous in general. However, trellised plants are great space savers and the hanging gourds are uniform and flawless.
