Powdery Mildew on Pumpkins

Hello all! I am new to the forums and this website. My pumpkins had gotten infected with powdery mildew and I did not catch it in time so that it spread. I have six pumpkin plants. I tried using a baking powder/water mixture and a milk/water mixture but the powdery mildew spread anyways. I had read previously on multiple sites that the best thing to do is cut off the leaves and destroy them as soon as possible. Unfortunately, this resulted in about loss of half of my pumpkin leaves and two bare spots. I just sprinkled a good set of fertilizer in my pumpkin patch in hopes of encouraging it to set new leaves quickly. Is there any hope at all for my pumpkins with two bare spots and very few leaves? I also forgot to mention that I have five pumpkins setting up.
