I am trying to waterproof the inside of a small gourd to be used as a flower vase, but I'm not sure what to use to make it waterproof and nontoxic to the flowers. Has anyone done this before and what are your suggestions.

RE: gourd vase

We use a polyurethane product.......Minwax Spar coat.
It comes in a quart can, and if you can't brush it inside the gourd, just pour a small amount inside and turn the gourd slowly to coat the inside.
It will make the gourd waterproof, and food safe.
Just be sure to give it several days to dry properly.
