Trying to ID vine

Today at Boerner Botanical gardens in Milwaukee I saw a vine with elongated yellow fruits, approximately 15 inches long, heavily ribbed and hard to the touch. The overall shape is like a straight banana, but more plump.

The vine was climbing up a stone pillar, attaching itself by tendrils that anchored into cracks in the stone itself. It is being used (very successfully) as an ornamental.

None of the volunteers at the garden knew what it was and the horticulturalist was off today. Sorry I don't have a picture.
