Gourds 1.01

First year growing gourds, not sure what type since June seems so long ago. Anyway I have four plants on two hills which are only a few feet apart. I have about two dozen fruits mostly tennis ball to softball size, many round smooth yellow and orange, some multi colored with heavy dimples. I might add they are the coolest looking plants I've ever grown.

My question is since it's so late in the season to expect any more real hot weather and I'm getting much less sun on them as earlier in the summer, should I start pulling the new smaller fruits to allow the others to grow to maturity.

And my research tells me I can let them stay out until early frost actually hits. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
