| "Squashes, How to Grow Them" by James J.H. Gregory
Written around 1870. Sometimes the style of English takes some effort to understand. Quite interesting account of first hand knowledge and observation of squash habits. |

| Fascinating reading--esp. the widespread use of "night soil." Thanks. Brook |

| A great little read. The "Saving Seed" section cleared up my confusion about the Crown I opened up a few days ago. It wasn't ready in terms of seed ripeness. The author's description of the placental tissue and the condition of the seeds themselves was spot-on. Thanks for posting this! |
