this Musquee de Provence kept for a year!

In 2013 I grew some Musquee de Provence (Cucurbita moschata). This one was harvested at 40 pounds. I kept it on my dining room table until a couple weeks ago, and the rind was still flawless. It weighed 35 pounds when I processed it. A great keeper!

    Oh yes, quite fibrillar flesh after the summer. Never store MdP longer then spring, when you want to process juicy flesh.
    I also like to store C. moschata very long, and so I have created a new variety, which does not make such a felt.
    Size is similar to MdP, but with a tip it looks like a giant acorn squash, although it is C. moschata.
