Growing Gourds in Northern Idaho

My daughter and I are making plans to move to Northen Idaho in the next couple of years or so. I grow gourds on my TN place and was wondering how the growing of them will be in that part of the country. I figure there is a shorter growing season but wonder if gourds thrive well there.

Hi Dinkeydot, I would guess that you will have excellent luck growing gourds in Northern Idaho. Our days are very long here in the inland Northwest (think: sunlight from 5am to 10pm) at the height of summer and the weather can be fairly hot, depending on where you will be. The Palouse, in Northern ID is a huge agricultural area and there can be ready access to irrigation. Best, J
