Pumpkins, Squash & Gourds

Deformed and bubbly pumpkin leaves (pic)

The leaves on my young pumpkin plants are very deformed and have bubbly growth in some places. Some of the newest leaves are withered right to the leaf vein. I see no bugs or pests under or on the leaves, I've checked morning, midday, evening, and midnight.

Is this some kind of disease? Or is there a problem with the soil?

Anyone had this problem before?

That looks like a mosiac virus which is normally transmitted by aphids. If you have any good size fruit before you noticed the deformities they should be fine but any pumpkins that form now will likely be deformed

After doing some research, I do believe you are right. It looks to be a mosaic virus. :`( I'm devestated. I really reeeeally wanted pumpkins for Halloween. I don't have any on the vine yet, so that idea is shot. I can't treat it can I....

But I also have cucumber vines and some acorn sqash vines in the same garden withOUT the virus. Will it spread? Should I pull up and throw out the vines that do have the virus or is that going to even make a difference?

Am I going to have the virus 'in the soil' now so anything I plant next year will be sick too?
