I didn't have much success with my pumpkin and squash plants at my community garden plot this year. But I did get one nice pumpkin. As my son was heading off to college for the first time, I decided to carve the college motto in the pumpkin as it grew, and present it to my son for his dorm room. Thus, I probably have the only pumpkin reading, "Ve Ri Tas." It now sits on his bookcase at his dorm in Harvard University.

Looks great, very few people take advantage of scarring pumpkins like that. I've always thought that was a neat trick.

Thanks, I actually carved my son's name on a pumpkin before he was born all those years ago as well.
