Pumpkins, Squash & Gourds

this is a fist for me. in 3 years of growing pumpkins i have never seen this all my plants look healthy but now there is a white powdery substance on my big healthy green leaves is it mildew or ? and what do i do i have alot of nice large pumpkins there plenty ripe if i had to i could pull them all off and just mow down the vines but id rather leave them on awhile yet thank you

Sounds like powdery mildew, which often comes when there is a lot of humidity. I don't believe it will hurt the fruit. I'd leave it to mature, even as the vines die.

Where do you live? How much time is left in your growing season?

i live in nebraska in lincoln and i should be good for atleast 2 weeks and probably longer some years i get tomatos and peppers upto first part of november so they will be fine on the vine here till atleast oct
