Frost is coming . . . what to do?

Starting Sunday, our nighttime temps are supposed to be in the 40's. Frost is probably not far off.

This is my first year growing winter squash. I have Buttercup, Butternut, Red Kuri, and Sweet Dumpling. They were all planted a little late--on June 18, to be exact. Today makes 84 days since planting, and the maturity dates of these varieties are more like 95 to 100 days. I haven't checked every stem, but the ones I saw don't look old and brown.

So . . . I assume frost will kill the vines. Will it damage the squash as well? Is there any hope of them maturing fully if the plants die? What steps should I take?

Thanks very much for your help!
