| Can anyone identify the variety of this bad boy? It's about 14 inches high.
It sprang forth from my compost pile, and I don't remember planting it, though it's possible that I did and forgot about it. There are about a dozen or so of them, though the rest are all still green, in late October. |

| When pumpkins and ornamental gourds (both Cucurbita pepo) cross this is a common result. Large warty gourds. 'Knucklehead' is a named variety that you can buy, but as you discovered it can spring up on its own if you save seeds from a pumpkin that grew in a patch with or near ornamental gourds. |
