Gold Nugget is about the same size as normal acorn types. It has a very hard rind like a hubbard and is Hubbard quality. I prefer the C. moschata types fpor pies as they have dry flesh and are Svb resistant. The Cheese types are good and about the right size for pies. If you want a big pumpkin shaped C. moschata, you might try the Dickerson (Sandhill)It is thetype Libby uses. I grow a cheese type named Beung Carn. {{gwi:14995}}

I love Gold Nugget, and grew it once, back in the 80s. But it is quite susceptible to borers. Farmerdilla's suggests are very good, as always.

Yes, it was fiberless and sweet. I don't recall the fruit as being as large as in the picture. But they sure were good!
