Hi, I am new to gourd painting. I live in Northern Illinois where temperatures get below freezing in the winter.

Question: Can I store painted gourds in an unheated shed. Will it effect the paint on the gourd? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Diane, My painted gourd bird feeder has been out in the weather for three years & is just fine. I live in Michigan. Lois

I store most of my finished gourds in plastic totes, out in the unheated shed. They are just fine. Some have a polyurethane finish, while others are painted without the finish.
