Immersion blender instead of food mill

I read somewhere (maybe here??) that an immersion blender works well to turn cppled squash pulp into a nice smooth puree. That's what I've been using on my huge harvest of Waltham butternut squash, and it works great! It breaks it down in no time, and there's no messy food mill to clean up!

Is it OK to freeze in ziploc baggies?

Yes. I usually double-bag them though.

I think the immersion blenders are great! I use them for my squash all the time and it does great.

We've been using an immersion blender for this as well as with soft fruit and the versatility and cleanup are better than a blender.

Here is a link that might be useful: immersion blender reviews
