Limited space takes semi-bush varieties: so fruits lay around the planting mound, while fruitless vines make a dense roof between the plants to hold more CO2 for better photosynthesis.
My picture shows the edible vatiety C. pepo 'Gold Gem', but for you 'Gold Challenger' would be the better choice.
But you would have to start the plants indoors in late April for set out after frost saints, if you grow in hardiness zone 5.

10 to 12" in diameter and variable hight.
Gold Gem is in the 20# class with dense flesh and a thick wall.
With itôs flavor Gold Gem might be the best edible of all C. pepo halloween style or field and carving pumpkins.
